He pulled her to him for another kiss. "You do that..." He gave her ass a light squeezed before turning and heading for the basement to check the water heater.
"Yes. But you're the one who has to hold all those flowers, not me, so it really doesn't matter." He jumped over the back of the couch, landing next to her with a soft thump. "But, let's see what you were thinking."
"Well, I was thinking maybe a bouquet that cascades down, with orchids and a few roses in the main bouquet part? Something like this." She pointed to a picture of a similar bouquet.
"As a matter of fact, I did. I was thinking, since you're break is coming up soon and, for once, mine actually matches up with yours..." He pulled two airplane tickets out of his pocket.
She glanced at the tickets. "Oh, this is going to be so fun! A whole week in Paris!" She bounced a little. "You realize that I now have to buy new clothes."
"Of course. And, for just that." He pulled a check out of his shirt pocket, handing it to her. "I sold one of MY paintings and I want you to use the money to buy yourself an entire new wardrobe."
"Hush. You're going to take this and you're going to enjoy shopping, you understand me?" He kissed her temple. "Think of it as my wedding present if it makes you feel better."
He returned the kiss, smiling at her. "I will have fun, seeing you in all those new sexy outfits." He ran a hand down her side. "Buy at least one set of new 'pajamas' and I'll get full enjoyment out of that money, I promise."
"Well then, we'll just have to have fun in both places then." He grinned and kissed her agian. ****** "Lucy, hold STILL! If you don't stop wiggling around I can't do your braids properly and if I can't do your braids properly, you can't run around on the playground."
"Well I'm glad." He grinned and scooped her into his lap, kissing her cheek. "Now, go ahead and have fun." He set her down and she took off for the swings.
"Lucy!" Lucifer stood and waved. The little girl looked up and jumped off the swings, skipping over. "Yes, Papa?" "I want you to meet a good friend of mine." He sat down, pulling the girl into his lap.
He nodded. "For her birthday." He opened the locket he had gotten Cam, a slight pang going through him when he saw the woman he loved there along with a picture of that annoying Hiro. "But I didn't know what to put inside."
"I thought you could use this." She handed him a photo that was of Cam holding Lucy at the hospital just after she'd given birth. She was grinning down at the little girl in her arms. The photo was small enough that it would fit the locket.
She smiled. "That means no, you don't have a picture of Cam." She pulled another one out. It was of Cam the night she won first place for her painting of Lucifer. She was up on stage, beaming.
"Well, I suppose I should be grateful for that then." He sighed quietly. "I never thought about it before but...I guess our relationship ended pretty much the same way as Eve's and mine."
"Like I said, we come here every Tuesday so you can see her as much as you like. You can bring Eiro as well as long as he doesn't want to rip me apart."
"He's a good man. Just like you're a good man at heart. Hiro is too. He's very good to Cam." Kira patted Lucifer's arm lightly. "I wish things could have worked out differently for you two."
The fallen angel shrugged. "It's the price of being the prince of hell, unfortunately. Not only was I cast down from heaven but I'm damned to be alone forever." He raked his short hair away from his face. "At least I got Lucy out of it."
"Come here, you!" Eiro let out a playful growl and scooped up Himeko, his two-year-old daughter, blowing raspberries against her cheek. She giggled and squealed, pushing at her father's shoulders. "Tickles! Papa!" she giggled. "Of course it tickles, you silly girl. That's why I'm doing it."
She giggled, hugging her older sister around the neck. "So, what brings my third oldest daughter here?" Eiro asked as he picked up a few of Himeko's toys that had been thrown out of her crib.
"Not vocally, no. But I know what she'll be thinking." He smiled and kissed his older daughter's cheek. "We'll be happy to watch your apartment for you."
"You're welcome, sweetie." He paused for a moment, stroking Himeko's soft black hair. "Cam...I know this is going to seem like a very odd question but...is Hiro really the one you love?"
Eiro smiled and kissed her cheek. "Then I won't ask you again." He took his youngest daughter from Cam and she scrambled up onto his shoulders with a giggle.
"Your mother is downstairs in her study. Why don't you go tell her all this?" "Okay, Papa." She smiled and bounced out of the room. "You can come out now, Lucifer. I know you're lurking in the shadows," Eiro said, calmly detaching the toddler from his shoulders. The shadows swirled and Lucifer appeared, a little smile on his face. "Still can't fool you, can I?" "Nope." Himeko let out a little shriek when Lucifer appeared then startled giggling. "I think your daughter likes me." "Plan on stealing her away?" "That wasn't nice, Eiro." Lucifer leaned back against the wall. "I know. But it was either make a snide comment or punch you across the face. And I didn't want my daughter seeing that." "Hmm. Well then, I'm glad you just insulted me." The fallen angel smiled a little. "Why are you here, Lucifer? You know Cam's not allowed to see you." "I know that. And I wasn't here to cause trouble. I'm here because I need to talk to you." "About what?" "Your brother." "My brother? Shinji?" "Yes. He's getting older, isn't he?" "Well, that's what happens when you're human." Eiro carried Himeko to the changing table. "What if he wasn't human?"
Lucifer crossed his arms. "I can't make people angels. You know that. You also know that, unless Shinji or Rei marries an angel, there's no way for them to become angel." "So what are you proposing?" "For a long time now...I've owed you a huge debt. You and your family. You know that." Lucifer looked up at Eiro. "If you wish it...I can make Shinji and Rei and all their children demons. They'll retain their place on earth and all that but the added perk will be that they're immortal. You won't ever have to say goodbye to them."
"Kira...take Himeko for a moment." Eiro suddenly dumped the toddler in her arms then pivoted on his heel. In one smooth motion, he'd punched Lucifer hard enough across the face to send him reeling backwards.
Lucifer staggered to his feet, wiping away the small trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth. "No...Kira...it's alright," he said, holding up a hand. Eiro stepped forward and grabbed the front of the fallen angel's shirt, slamming him back against the wall. "How DARE you come in here and offer to make my only brother a god-damned demon! You won't be happy until you steal my entire family's souls, will you?!" Lucifer's eyes flashed black and a blast of energy threw Eiro back a few feet. "Did I ever say I would take their souls?!"
The two men winced but Eiro wasn't about to let Lucifer get away. "You listen to me, Lucifer. You stay the hell away from my brother." "Well, guess what, Eiro. The decision isn't yours. I came to you first as a courtisy." There was a puff of smoke and the devil was gone.
"No, I'm going over there to tell them all the facts. We both know that Lucifer only gives enough information to get the answer he wants. I won't have my brother agreeing to ANYTHING Lucifer offers unless he knows everything."

He glanced at it.
"In those same colors?"
"Why?"
"Well, I'm not a big fan of that pinky color."
She arched her eyebrow. "And you think I do?" She laughed. "I was thinking maybe these black orchids with white roses? Do a black and white wedding?"
"Black and white...that sounds kind of neat. It'll be much easier to match colors, that's for sure."
"Thats the idea." She smiled at him. "Did you want anything?"
"As a matter of fact, I did. I was thinking, since you're break is coming up soon and, for once, mine actually matches up with yours..." He pulled two airplane tickets out of his pocket.
Her jaw dropped. "Hiro..."
"I thought it might be fun to take a break some place nice for once." He held the tickets out to her.
She took them and examined them. "Where does it say the destination?"
He laughed and pointed to the corner.
Paris, France.
"You said you always wanted to see the great works at the Louve with your own eyes."
She grinned and flung herself at him. "OH! I love you!"
He laughed and hugged her back.
"Well, it's for my enjoyment too, you know." He kissed her cheek. "But I'm glad you like it."
She glanced at the tickets. "Oh, this is going to be so fun! A whole week in Paris!" She bounced a little. "You realize that I now have to buy new clothes."

"I will have fun, seeing you in all those new sexy outfits." He ran a hand down her side. "Buy at least one set of new 'pajamas' and I'll get full enjoyment out of that money, I promise."
She giggled. "Yes, sir." She saluted a little and kissed him again. "I might just have to show you my appreciation..."
He slowly grinned.
"Oh? And how will you do that?"
Her hand slid over his thigh. "Oh...I'm sure you can figure it out..." She kissed him softly.
He slid his hands over her.
"Shall we go into the bedroom then?"
She bit her lip and slowly stood up. "I suppose..."
He grabbed her wrist, tugging her back down into his arms.
"Or would you prefer to stay here?"
She giggled. "Oh, my I don't know...I can't decide..."
"Well then, we'll just have to have fun in both places then." He grinned and kissed her agian.

"Lucy, hold STILL! If you don't stop wiggling around I can't do your braids properly and if I can't do your braids properly, you can't run around on the playground."
She immediately stopped fidgiting. "Yes, Papa..."
He kissed her cheek and resumed braiding her long white hair.
She smiled up at him.
He smiled back.
"You know, I used to have hair this long too."
"Really? Why did you cut it?"
"Oh, I don't know. I guess I got sick of it getting into everything." He tied off the end of her braid.
She smiled up at him. "Well, I like your hair now."
"Well I'm glad." He grinned and scooped her into his lap, kissing her cheek. "Now, go ahead and have fun." He set her down and she took off for the swings.
After a few minutes of watching his daughter play, Lucifer looked up to see Kira walking towards him. She smiled and looked across the playground.
He smiled back and gestured for her to come over.
"She's the one on the swings," he said, pointing.
"I thought that was her." Kira sat down. "Oh, she's gotten so big..."
"She'll be six next week," Lucifer said with a little smile. "It's hard to believe it's been that long."
"Yes, it does... God, I remember the day she was born...so tiny..."
"Do you want to say hello?"
"Oh...I don't know...I might get all weepy..."
"Lucy!" Lucifer stood and waved. The little girl looked up and jumped off the swings, skipping over.
"Yes, Papa?"
"I want you to meet a good friend of mine." He sat down, pulling the girl into his lap.
Kira smiled at her. "Hello."
"Hi," the girl said in a slightly shy tone.
"Lucy, this is Kira."
"Its very nice to meet you, Lucy."
"You too." Lucifer kissed his daughter's temple.
"You can go and play." She nodded and jumped down, dashing off once more.
"She's sweet."
"Yes, she is." He sat back on the bench, crossing his legs. "I'm glad to have her."
Kira nodded. "I'm glad you do. And not because of Cam. You needed this little girl, just as much as she needed you."
"What is that supposed to mean, needed her?" He looked over at Kira quickly.
Kira smiled, a little too criptically for his liking. "It means that we all need something to love unconditionally in our lives..."
"Hey now, don't you go trying to make me into this tragic hero or anything."
"I'm not. Its the truth. You needed Lucy to keep you good."
"I was never bad so I can't really 'stay' good."
"You know what I mean."
"I know." He looked over at her. "Did you get the locket?"
She handed him a black velvet jewelry bag. "Here you are."
He took it from her, weighing it in his hand.
"I got Lucy one like it," he said softly.
"Did you?" Kira smiled.
He nodded.
"For her birthday." He opened the locket he had gotten Cam, a slight pang going through him when he saw the woman he loved there along with a picture of that annoying Hiro. "But I didn't know what to put inside."

Lucifer blinked a few times, staring down at the picture. "Oh..."
"I understand if you don't want to..."
"No. It's not that. I just...didn't realize such a picture existed."
"Oh...Eiro took it. I don't think Cam was even paying attention."
"Lucy will like having a picture of her mother."
"I'm sure she will." Kira smiled at him. "Do you have one?"
He blinked a few times.
"Er...well...somewhere...I'm sure..."
She smiled. "That means no, you don't have a picture of Cam." She pulled another one out. It was of Cam the night she won first place for her painting of Lucifer. She was up on stage, beaming.
He smiled a little when he saw it.
"What did she do with the painting?"
"Its hanging in her apartment. I think someone offered to buy it once. Neither her nor Hiro would hear of it."
"Well, I suppose I should be grateful for that then." He sighed quietly. "I never thought about it before but...I guess our relationship ended pretty much the same way as Eve's and mine."
"You being kicked out and she goes to another man?"
He nodded.
"For the most part. I took her memories too."
Kira gave him a sad smile. "The things we'd do to keep the ones we love happy?"
"Exactly," he said softly, tucking the pictures carefully away.
Kira patted his arm. "Thank you for letting me see my granddaughter. She's a beautiful little girl. She's lucky to have you."
"Like I said, we come here every Tuesday so you can see her as much as you like. You can bring Eiro as well as long as he doesn't want to rip me apart."
Kira laughed. "I'll keep that in mind."
"How is he doing, by the way?"
"He's doing well. He's still terrorizing his students and being a good father and grandfather."
Lucifer laughed a little.
"I should expect as much from him."
"That's very true." Kira smiled at him.

"Himeko, is Papa being mean to you?" Cam was standing in the doorway, smiling at her father and little sister.
"Yes!" she squealed. Eiro laughed and lightly tossed the little girl in the air, catching her to kiss her again.
"I'm not mean. I'm just teasing."
"Teasing is mean, isn't it, Himeko?" Cam came into the room and took her little sister from her father.
"Yes! Mean mean mean!" she said, making a face at Eiro, causing him to laugh.
Cam laughed. "Good job." She gave her sister noisy kisses on her cheek.
She giggled, hugging her older sister around the neck.
"So, what brings my third oldest daughter here?" Eiro asked as he picked up a few of Himeko's toys that had been thrown out of her crib.
"Actually, I'm here to ask a favor. Hiro and I need someone to look after the apartment for a week."
"For a week? Why? Are you two taking a trip?"
Cam's cheeks flushed a little and she nodded, grinning. "Hiro is taking me to Paris for a week."
"To Paris? Really?" Eiro smiled. "Well, that's nice of him. What's the occassion?"
"Oh, its just for break."
"You realize if you tell your mother about this, she's going to be EXTREMELY jealous." Eiro winked at her.
She smiled. "You mean she's going to pester you to take her someplace too?"
"Not vocally, no. But I know what she'll be thinking." He smiled and kissed his older daughter's cheek. "We'll be happy to watch your apartment for you."
She grinned. "Thank you, Daddy."
"You're welcome, sweetie." He paused for a moment, stroking Himeko's soft black hair. "Cam...I know this is going to seem like a very odd question but...is Hiro really the one you love?"
She blinked. "You're right, that is an odd question." She smiled. "I love Hiro. There's no doubt about it."
Eiro smiled and kissed her cheek.
"Then I won't ask you again." He took his youngest daughter from Cam and she scrambled up onto his shoulders with a giggle.
"Make sure Papa treats you nice, okay sweetie?" Her little sister nodded.
"Your mother is downstairs in her study. Why don't you go tell her all this?"
"Okay, Papa." She smiled and bounced out of the room.
"You can come out now, Lucifer. I know you're lurking in the shadows," Eiro said, calmly detaching the toddler from his shoulders. The shadows swirled and Lucifer appeared, a little smile on his face.

"Your brother."
"My brother? Shinji?"
"Yes. He's getting older, isn't he?"
"Well, that's what happens when you're human." Eiro carried Himeko to the changing table.
"What if he wasn't human?"
"What exactly do you mean by that Lucifer?"
Lucifer crossed his arms.
"I can't make people angels. You know that. You also know that, unless Shinji or Rei marries an angel, there's no way for them to become angel."
"So what are you proposing?"
"For a long time now...I've owed you a huge debt. You and your family. You know that." Lucifer looked up at Eiro. "If you wish it...I can make Shinji and Rei and all their children demons. Eiro's jaw tightened. "Demons?" Kira came out of the kitchen. "Lucifer! What brings you here?"
"Kira...take Himeko for a moment." Eiro suddenly dumped the toddler in her arms then pivoted on his heel. In one smooth motion, he'd punched Lucifer hard enough across the face to send him reeling backwards.
"EIRO!" Kira stared at her husband in shock. "What on Earth did you do that for?"
Lucifer staggered to his feet, wiping away the small trickle of blood at the corner of his mouth.
"No...Kira...it's alright," he said, holding up a hand. Eiro stepped forward and grabbed the front of the fallen angel's shirt, slamming him back against the wall.

"Did I ever say I would take their souls?!"
"STOP IT BOTH OF YOU!" Kira's voice seemed to thunder through the house. Himeko whimpered and covered her ears, snuggling into her mother's chest.
The two men winced but Eiro wasn't about to let Lucifer get away.
"You listen to me, Lucifer. You stay the hell away from my brother."
"Well, guess what, Eiro. The decision isn't yours. I came to you first as a courtisy." There was a puff of smoke and the devil was gone.
Kira arched her eyebrow. "Are you going to tell me what that was about?"
Eiro cursed under his breath.
"He's going to turn Shinji and Rei into demons."
"WHAT?"
"To do what, Eiro? Cause a scene. Let your brother and his wife make their own choices."
"No, I'm going over there to tell them all the facts. We both know that Lucifer only gives enough information to get the answer he wants. I won't have my brother agreeing to ANYTHING Lucifer offers unless he knows everything."
She sighed. "Very well."
Eiro leaned over and kissed her cheek before dashing out of the room. Sometimes he was just too stubborn for his own good.
She bounced Himeko. "I'm sorry if I scared you, sweetie. Do you want a popsicle?"
She nodded with a smile, hugging her mother around the neck.
"What flavor do you want? I think we have blue and green and purple and red."
