Sunlight filtered through the closed blinds, startling her. For a brief moment, she couldn't remember where she was or what had happened.
There was a movement next to her and she turned her head. Eiro was standing near the foot of the bed, his back to her, revealing the deep scars that would forever be embedded there. He pulled a t-shirt over his head, covering them from sight as he always did.

Past Memories
Somehow, she ended up in a part of NERV she'd never seen before. It looked like it hadn't been used in years. Confused, she wandered a little further.
Ahead of her, there was a heavy metal door, dusty and rusted at the hinges. For some reason, she felt like she had to look through that door. But she wasn't sure, given its condition, if it would open. The surprise came when she gave just a light tug at the heavy door and it swung open.
The room was dark...but she had no problem making out the lab equipment inside.
Or the shattered tube in the center large enough for a human.

Past and Present
For some reason, that night, Kira dreamed of the past. She didn't know why, but, for some reason, she had a dream of Narikage, something that hadn't happened in years.

Getting On
His hands smoothed over her one more time, rememorizing her curves. Last time he'd been with her, she'd still been a girl, not fully mature. But now...this was a woman under him.

As time goes on.
****
Cam and Hiro came back from Paris, having greatly enjoyed their time there. The next year they were married in a beautiful ceremony. Lucy had been their flower girl, as the only ones who knew she was Cam's daughter were Gabrial, Mei, Lucifer and her grandparents.
Cam and Hiro were very happy together. They had been married for three months when Kira got a call from a hysterical Cam.
"Slow down, Camael. What is it?"
"H-hiro...he was driving home and a-a...a car ran a light and hit him. They took him to the hospital right away, but..." Kira's daughter was sobbing into the phone.
"Are you at the hospital?"
"H-hai..."
"I'll be there in five minutes... Just try to calm down."
"Hai. Arigatou, Mama."

Changes All Around
Kira smiled and sat down to eat her own breakfast. Once they were all done, she sent the boys into the back yard to play along with their little sister and a stern admonishing to be careful around her. She went up stairs to check on Cam.
The little girl was huddled under her blankets, coughing now and again. "Mama...can I come downstairs? It's lonely up here."
"Sure, sweetie. We'll put you on the couch in the living room. How's that?"
"Okay." She sat up slowly and, with her mother's help, managed to get down to the living room and settled on the couch.
"Do you want anything?" Kira smoothed her daughter's hair.
"Can I have some ginger ale please?" her daughter asked in a soft voice, blinking up at her mother with slightly bleary eyes.
