Cam and Hiro came back from Paris, having greatly enjoyed their time there. The next year they were married in a beautiful ceremony. Lucy had been their flower girl, as the only ones who knew she was Cam's daughter were Gabrial, Mei, Lucifer and her grandparents.
Cam and Hiro were very happy together. They had been married for three months when Kira got a call from a hysterical Cam.
"Slow down, Camael. What is it?"
"H-hiro...he was driving home and a-a...a car ran a light and hit him. They took him to the hospital right away, but..." Kira's daughter was sobbing into the phone.
"Are you at the hospital?"
"H-hai..."
"I'll be there in five minutes... Just try to calm down."
"Hai. Arigatou, Mama."

"Hiro was in a car accident. I'm afraid its probably not a good out look. Cam sounded awful, I'm going down to the hospital." She pulled on some clothes and gave him a kiss.
Eiro cursed and got up as well, pulling on some pajama pants. "Call me the second you find out what's going on."
"I will." She was out the door. She was at the hospital as soon as she could be, and, when she asked about Hiro, she was directed to ICU. She hurried upstairs to the room he was in. "Cam...How is he doing?"
Her daughter's eyes were red and swollen with tears.
"H-he...he..." She burst into fresh tears, unable to even finish the sentence.
Kira pulled her daughter into her arms. "Shhh..." She held her tightly.
She heard a soft step behind her. When she turned to look, she saw Lucifer standing there.
"She can't see me," he said quietly, nodding at Cam. "And if you speak with me, she won't hear."
"Why are you here?"
"The man who hit Hiro died downstairs. I came to collect his soul."
"He's going to hell for an accident?"
"It wasn't his only sin." He walked forward a little, reaching out and touching Hiro's wrist. "He's not going to make it, Kira."
Kira hugged her daughter tighter. "This is going to hurt her just as much as loosing you."
"Maybe...but this time I can't take her memories."
"Is that your solution to everything?" Kira sighed. "Do you still love her?"
He was quiet.
"With my whole heart," he finally admitted in a soft, nearly non-existant voice.
Kira nodded. "I thought as much."
"I really did want her to be happy. I didn't like Hiro for taking her...but it was okay because he made her happy."
"And now this...Such a beautiful wedding and three months later, she's a widow..."
"His soul will be well-cared for." Miki appeared next to Lucifer, a sad smile on his face.
Kira closed her eyes. "Hullo, Miki."
"Hello. I'm sorry to have to see you again under these conditions."
"As am I." She stroked her daughter's hair. "As am I."
"I can give him a few more minutes so Cam can say her goodbyes...but then he has to come with me."
Kira nodded. "Sweetling? Why don't you go sit with him for a bit...he...he might wake up a little..."
Cam nodded, sitting up a little and wiping at her streaming eyes. She moved closer to Hiro, taking his hand. Lucifer, who was standing beside her, watched Cam for a moment before leaning forward, laying his hand on Hiro's wrist. The man's fingers twitched a little, closing around Cam's hand slightly.
She gasped softly. "Hiro?"
His hand twitched again but his eyes didn't open and nothing else moved.
"Oh...Hiro... I wish...I wish a great many things...but mostly I wish we'd had more time together..." She closed her eyes and tried to hold back tears. "I will always love you..." She leaned forward and kissed his lips softly. "And maybe...I can come see you in Heaven someday...I am an angel after all...I never told you that...but I am..."
His hand lightly closed over hers once more before slowly falling away. The monitors started flashing and beeping wildly.
She gasped. "Mama!"
Doctors and nurses appeared out of nowhere, pushing the two women out of the way as they started working desperately on the injured man.
Cam hid her face in her mother's shoulder as she used to do as a little girl. "He's gone...He's gone..."
Kira watched as Miki quietly stepped forward, laying a gentle hand on the man's forehead. His face seemed to become almost peaceful. There was a small flash of light and she knew he really was gone. A few moments later, the doctors pronounced him.
Cam sobbed harder. Kira kissed her hair and hugged her tightly. "Shh...I know...I know..."
One by one, the doctors and nurses drifted from the room, giving the grieving woman time alone with the body.
She flung herself from her mother and sobbed over her husband's body. "Oh, no..." She curved her hand around his jaw and gazed down at him, willing his eyes to open. "Oh...no..."
"Cam..." Miki stepped forward, laying his hands on her back. "I'm sorry..."
She started and looked up at him. "Miki...why did you let this happen?"
"It was his time."
"His time? He was only twenty-three... We'd only been married for three months! How is it his time!"
Miki smiled a little.
"It's okay to be angry with me."
"Damn right I'm angry! You keep taking the men I love away from me!"
Miki blinked.
"What do you mean?"
"What do I mean? I mean that my husband's dead body is in that room!"
She seemed to not have realized that she'd remembered about Lucifer for a moment. She broke down into hysterical sobbing.
Kira quickly rushed over, hugging her daughter tightly. Lucifer, wearing an utterly shocked expression, was staring at Cam, his mouth open.
"I want him back...give him back to me..." She sobbed. "Let one of them come back..."
Miki looked over at Lucifer, his mouth working up and down. Lucifer took a deep breath and stepped forward.
"Cam..."
Her eyes went wide and she stared up at him. "You...I know you..."
He smiled and touched her cheek.
"Yes, Cam. You do"
Realization came into her eyes. "Luci!" She flung herself into his arms. She stayed there a minute before pulling back and slapping him. "How DARE you do that to me! How dare you do THIS? Let me forget and live my life ignorant of the man I love and let me fall in love and marry someone else? And now he's dead!"
He winced, touching the welt on his cheek.
"Cam, I had no other choice. And you know that."
He winced, touching the welt on his cheek.
"Cam, I had no other choice. And you know that."
Tears welled in her eyes. "Please...leave me alone right now. I-I'll talk to you after the funeral."
He nodded and disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Cam wiped her eyes on her sleeve and turned back to Hiro's body.
"I'll leave you to grieve," Miki said quietly.
"Arigatou."
Miki bowed and disappeared.
Kira hugged her daughter from behind. "I'm going to call your father."
She nodded, still staring down at her dead husband.
Kira kissed the top of her head.

Three days later was the funeral. The day had dawned brightly. Cam felt it was an insult to her husband.
The service was beautiful as well.
As the coffin was lowered into the ground, she began crying silently.
Her father hugged her to him, stroking her hair.
Her father-in-law touched her back as well. She smiled at both of them and straightened a little.
The ceremony finished and the group of people moved off, giving her a few moments alone with the grave.
She laid some black and white orchids on the grave. They were the same kind as the ones at their wedding. "I'll miss you, so much, Hiro-kun..."
As she straightened, she caught sight of Lucifer standing a few graves away. He was dressed all in black, his shoulder-legth white hair tied back in a ponytail.
She walked over to him. "Why did you cut your hair?"
"Just for a change," he said. "How are you doing?"
"Better than I expected. I still feel like my heart has been shattered...but..." She shrugged. "I really loved him, Luci..."
"I know." He bowed his head a little. "I'm glad he made you happy."
"I am too...I just wish..." She bowed her head. "Why did you send our daughter to Gabrial?"
"Because I can't care for her any longer. She's a pure angel, like you."
"Oh...Luci..." She touched his hand. "Why didn't you just find someplace on earth to stay? You can return to hell to do your duties just as easily as we do to heaven."
"Contact with me will still taint her. I couldn't do that to her."
"No, it's not." He turned away, pacing a few steps away from her.
"How do you know? Who told you?"
"Because it's happened before!"
"When?" she challenged.
"I'm the one who pulled Lilith down."
"What? That's preposterous. She made her own choices."
"She never would have made them if I hadn't been in contact with her. I taint what I touch, Cam. I'm satan."
"Lucifer...I am the angel of joy...you can't taint that."
"I can't take that chance," he said quietly. "I won't drag you down with me...or Lucy. I love you two too much."
"Then we'll be fine. Please, remember, that Lucy and I, we're angels. Lilith and Eve were humans."
"I'm sorry, Cam."
"Don't you DARE try to take my memories again then, you bastard." Her voice was hard, more harsh than he'd ever heard it.
"Cam--"
"What?" She spun and looked at him, her eyes wet with tears. "I just have to put up with the fact that one of the men I love is to scared to be with me and the other is dead?"
"Cam...if I take them--"
"What? I can move on? No! I won't let you!"
"You've been through a lot. You don't need two--"
"Stop it! Just stop it! I still love you! I always will, and nothing can change that." Tears ran down her face. "I love you too much...to loose you again."
"Cam." Eiro appeared, his hand resting on her shoulder.
"Hai, Papa?"
"Your mother's waiting in the car for you."
She nodded and walked towards the car.
Lucifer glared at the other man. "Do you WANT to see your daughter in pain?"
"This pain is YOUR doing!"
"You told me to stay away from your daughter!"
"But you didn't, did you? You knocked her up then took her memories. If you hadn't done that, she wouldn't be going through this pain!"
"I know! Do you think I like seeing her like this? I don't! I love her and it kills me to see her hurting!"
"Then be a man and be with her!" Eiro threw the man into the dirt.
"You know I can't! Being with me will damn her!"
Lucifer hung his head. He wanted to be with her...but could he risk it?

When Cam got to her parents house, she saw Lucy sitting in a chair near the kitchen, idly playing with a ruffle on her black dress.
She trembled a little, remembering this little girl as a tiny baby in the hospital. "Hello, Lucy."
She looked up, her different colored eyes meeting hers.
"Mama?"
Tears welled up again as she hugged her daughter to her. "I'm sorry, sweetie...Mama's just a little sad today."
Lucy hugged her back.
"I know, Mama...it's okay."
"I know. I feel better just getting a Lucy-hug." She smiled at her daughter. "What do you want to do today?"
Lucy shook her head a little.
"Anything you want to do, Mama."
"Silly girl." She ruffled Lucy's hair. "I don't really feel much like doing anything."
Lucy hugged her mother's waist.
"Then we'll do nothing."
"Okay." She took her daughter over to the couch and they sat, cuddling each other.
Lucy sat in her mother's lap, playing with the simple chain around Cam's neck.
"Mama...do you love Papa?"
"Yes. I love Papa." She sighed a little. "But some times he makes me frustrated."
"Why did he take our memories away?"
"Because Papa didn't think that he could be with us, so he took our memories of him and hoped we would be happier. But it didn't work."
She looked up.
"Is it because I'm an angel?"
"Its because we're both angels, love."
"I wish Papa would sotp being stubborn."
Camael laughed. "So do I love, so do I."
"But can you and me be together now?"
"Yes, Lucy. We can be together now."
Lucy smiled.
"Then...I don't mind it so much."
Cam smiled. "Neither do I." She hugged her daughter tight. "Neither do I."

****3 weeks later****
"Mama? Are you okay?" Lucy knocked on the bathroom door.
"Yes, Mommy is just a little sick. I'll be out in a minute."
"Okay." Lucy retreated a few steps, humming to herself as she waited.
Cam had been ill almost every morning for almost the past three weeks. She would put it up to grief if she hadn't been sick prior to Hiro's death. So, she'd made herself a doctor's appointment. She came out of the bathroom after cleaning up.
"Sorry, little one."
"You've been getting sick a lot, Mama. Are you okay?" Lucy rose up on her tiptoes and, after Cam bent a little, she pressed her hand to her forehead. "You're hot."
Cam smiled. "I made a doctor's appointment, so we'll be going there this afternoon. You worry too much."
"You're my Mommy." Lucy smiled, hugging her mother around the neck. "Now, if you're sick, we need to get you gingerale and ice cream at the store. That's what Papa always got me when I was sick."
Her mouth twitched. "Ice cream, huh?" She kissed Lucy's cheek. "Well, I don't happen to feel like ice cream, so I'll just have some ginger ale and crackers, how is that?"
"Okay. The salty kind is the best."
"Yes, Lucy." She smiled and got herself the ginger ale and crackers. She gave Lucy a bowl of chocolate ice cream.
Lucy grinned and started eating.
Cam smiled.

That afternoon they went to the doctor and had some tests run. She was very surprised when the results came back.
"Are you sure?"
"Positive," the doctor said with a little nod. "You're close to four months along."
"Oh..." She let her breath out. "I have no idea how I didn't notice..."
"Well, you said you recently lost your husband. Intense grief can cause symptoms like vomiting, nausia, ect."
"Yes, I know..." She placed a hand over her stomach.
"I'm going to give you the name of a fantastic obgyn. Give her a call and she'll give you a complete checkup."
She smiled at him. "Thank you, doctor." She took the card from him and walked out to the front desk to fill out some paperwork. When she was done, she called Lucy over and drove her to a restaurant for an early dinner.
"So are you sick, Mommy?" Lucy asked, looking up from her crayons.
"No, sweetie...Mommy's not sick." She sighed a little. "You know that when Papa took Mommy's memories she married somebody else?"
Her little girl nodded solemnly. "And he died so we went to his funeral and that's why you remembered you were my mommy."
"Yes...Well, Mommy is going to have a baby."
Lucy blinked then, surprisingly, a grin broke out across her face.
"You mean I'm going to have a little brother or sister?"
Cam smiled. "Yes. You are."
Lucy's grin grew and she bounced a little in her chair.
"Really?! I'm so excited now!"
"Well, in about five months your little brother or sister will be born."
Lucy squealed quietly, clapping her hands.
"If it's a sister, I'm going to make her tons and tons of clothes just like mine!"
"Why on earth did your father decide to give you all those frilly dresses anyway?" Camael smiled at her daughter.
"Because I asked him for them," she said matter-of-factly. "I saw them once when we were on a visit to earth. I liked them so much, he bought me a ton of them."
"Hmm..." Cam smiled a little.
"He liked to spoil me," she added with a smile.
"Yes, I imagine he did." Cam and Lucy chatted back and forth over dinner before heading home. Cam's only concern with being pregnant was that she wasn't sure how Lucifer would take it.
***
"My lord...you have been very distracted these last weeks," Bee noted to Lucifer as he sat behind his large desk.
"Leave me be."
"Might I ask why you're so distracted?"
"That is none of your concern," Lucifer said in an edged voice.
"It has to do with HER, doesn't it? The Angel of Joy, Camael."
"You are skating on thin ice."
Beelzebub laughed. "Lucifer, we all know you're still in love with her. Honestly, I almost agree with the angels in this matter."
Lucifer shot to his feet, his hands slamming down on his desk, silencing the fallen angel.
"ONE more word...and I'll chain you back down," he snarled, his eyes swirling black.
Bee nodded and turned back to his work.
Lucifer slowly lowered himself back into his chair, his hands still clenched into fists.
How DARE a minion question him! How dare he accuse him of still loving an angel!
What he hated most about the whole thing was that Bee was absolutely right.
But what could he do about it? Nothing. He couldn't damn the love of his life and their daughter just to be with them.
He loved them far too much to let something like that happen.
But could he really live with out them?
He already knew his work was suffering. He'd noticed it long before Bee had said anything to him.
He just needed to get her out of his head. If only it were that easy.

"Good night, sweetheart." Cam softly shut the door to her daughter's room and walked down the hall to her room. She packed her bag for the hospital trip she was sure to make soon. Her belly was swollen huge with thirty-nine weeks of pregnancy. She was ready for her child to be born. She hadn't found out what it was, she wanted to be surprised.
She let out a slow breath as the baby kicked a little. It was getting more and more anxious to be born.
She heard a soft knock on the front door.
Rubbing her belly a little she walked to the front door and peeped out the window.
A man was standing there, his back to the door as he waited.
But the white hair braided down his back...
She opened the door quickly, hanging onto the door handle for support. "Luci?" Her voice was soft.
He turned around quickly.
"Cam..." He stopped as he caught sight of the huge, pregnant belly.
She blushed a little and looked down. "I guess no one told you..."
He blinked very fast a couple times.
"You...baby...what?"
She giggled softly. "Luci come in, I'll explain." She gestured for him to sit down and sat on the couch with a sigh. "When Hiro died...I was about three months pregnant. I hadn't really noticed the symptoms and then there was the accident... I didn't find out until I was close to four months along." She bit her lip and looked down. "My due date is actually in two days."
"...oh..." he said, still looking a tad shell-shocked.
"Luci...why did you come here?"
"Because...I wanted to talk to you..."
"What about?"
"Yes. You were."
"So I wanted to apologize for that."
"Alright. Anything else?"
He coughed.
"I...I wanted to see Lucy."
"Lucifer. You know she's asleep."
"Yes...I know." He sighed heavily and stood, pacing a few steps away from her.
"Luci...what's bothering you?"
"I miss you. I miss both of you."
She stood up and walked over to him. "We miss you, too, Luci." She leaned into him.
His arms slowly came up, wrapping around her.
She closed her eyes and sighed a little. "I love you, Luci. But there are times when you frustrate me."
"I frustrate myself too," he said with a little smile.
She smiled back, then clutched at her belly. "OH!" Fluid rushed between her legs. "Oh...Luci...my water just broke." She winced as a light contraction hit her.
His eyes widened.
"What? NOW?"
She took deep breaths, nodding. "I've done this once before, remember?" She made a small noise as another contraction hit her. "Damn it. I don't have time to get to the hospital..." She clutched at the wall, trying to stay upright.
Lucifer grabbed her arm.
"Sit down. I'll get towels."
Panting, she slid down the wall, not able to move from her spot. "This one is coming so much faster than Lucy..."
"The second one usually does." He ran to a linen closet nearby, pulling out all the towels he could find.
