"Well then...I guess I'll just get started." He grinned and kissed her again.

"Well, they'll be up there for a while, I think," Mei said with a giggle as she cleared away the plates.

Gabrial chuckled. "You sure know my parents."
"I know you," she said, leaning over and tapping his nose. "You had to get your wonderful stamina from someone." She winked.
Gabrial laughed. "I see." He pulled her into his lap and kissed her soundly.
"Ah ah, none of that, you pervert. Your sister's just in the next room." She slid out of his lap with a little laugh. "Later you can ravish me all you want, promise."
He pouted. "All I was doing was kissing you."
"With you, it always turns into more. I just can't resist you either." She smiled and winked.
"Oh, you two are so wicked, making out in your parents' kitchen," said a throaty voice. They turned their heads to see a little girl with white braids standing there, a big grin on her face.
Gabrial frowned. "Can I help you...?"
Mei gasped.
"L-Lucy?!"
"Mei-san!" Lucy giggled and ran to her, hugging her around the waist.
Gabrial arched an eyebrow. "Lucy?"
Lucy turned her head and smiled then looked up at Mei.
"Want to make him jealous?" There was a flash of black light and, suddenly, an EXTREMELY handsome made with a single white braid had his arms around Mei. Not only that...but his mouth was on hers!!!!!!
Gabrail stood up from his chair, sending it clattering to the floor. "What the hell is going on?"
Mei made a frustrated noise and her knee came up, connecting with his stomach. The man staggered back, laughing.
"Oh, Mei. You were always so voilent!"
"Back OFF, Lucifer. Just because you're the devil doesn't mean I'll give in to you."
Gabrial's eyes narrowed. "What the hell do you want?"
"Gomen, Gabrial-san. She's just too pretty to resist." He pulled out a chair and sat, crossing his legs. "Don't worry though. I was just making sure you would really care if someone tried to take her. I'm not interested in Mei."
"Not anymore," Mei snapped. "I had to threaten you with castration to get you to back off."
"Hmm. Well, that's very true." Lucifer smiled at Gabrial. "Sit and relax. I have to talk to you."
Gabrial crossed his arms. "What do you want, Lucifer? I may help you a little, but I don't like you."
"No one ever likes me; you aren't going to get a shocked reaction out of me." He crossed his arms as well. "As for what I want...I want an invitation."
"To what?"
"To the council. You see...I'm not allowed in. You know, eternal damnation and all. But if I have three angels to back me, including an exclusive invitation from the new archangel--YOU--I can get in."
"Why should I?"
"Because if you don't...Mei is going to die." Mei gasped softly, a hand flying to her mouth.
"How dare you threaten her..."
"Me? You think I'm the one threatening her?" Lucifer stood slowly. "The council will slaughter her, Gabrial. And you know it."
"They will not." Gabrial's jaw was set.
"Yes, they will. They will kill her before you can start a family. Unless I can pull the council to hell with me, they'll kill her."
Gabrail closed his eyes and forced himself to relax. "Let me think about it..."
There was a quiet sob and Gabrial looked up quickly. Mei had covered her face with her hands, her shoulders shaking with her sobs.
He stepped forward and pulled her into his arms. "I love you, Mai."
But she pulled herself away, taking a few steps back.
"W-we...we can't..." She shook her head and ran out of the room. The door slammed a few moments later.
"Mai!" He ran after her.
A hand closed around his wrist as he reached the front door and he turned his head to see Lucifer there.
"Leave her," he said softly. "If you go after her now, she'll throw you away."
"Damn it, Lucifer, I love her."
"That's why you need to give her some space. If you let her be alone, she'll rant and rave and get over it. Besides...do you really want to leave your sister alone with the devil?"
Gabrial's eyes narrowed. "You wouldn't dare."
"No, I wouldn't. I'm actually terrified of your father. But your parents will be MORE than pissed if you leave her with me."
Gabrial sighed and picked up his chair. "Who else have you talked to about this?"
"Your mother. She's agreed to help me already. And I'm really hoping she'll tell your father so I don't have to."
"Mother is helping you?"
He nodded. "She's also forgiven me." He smiled slightly. "I always knew she was kind...but fogiving Satan? That's a new one."
"Its who she is, Lucifer."
"Still. It's rather intimidating." He sat back down in his chair. "Look...the truth is...I like Mei. Not love, like. She...she always accepted me as a person, not as Lucifer, the devil. If the council doesn't get pulled down...you'll never be happy."
"I know that...but..." Gabrial shook his head. "I suppose it couldn't hurt for me to invite you to the council sometime." He smiled a little.
Lucifer looked at him, his eyes swirling to black.
"Only you can do it. If you refuse...I can never go and they'll stay in place. Just remember that, Gabrial." There was another flash and he was gone.
Gabrial blinked. "Didn't I just tell him that I'd do it?"
Then again...he couldn't expect anything normal from the devil.

Mei sat on her bed, staring at the darkening sky. Her tears had long since stopped and she was quiet now.
There was a soft knock on the door.
She stood and slowly went to it, pulling it open just a crack.
It was Kira. "May I come in?"
"Hold on." Mei shut the door, removing the chain then opening it wider so Kira could enter.
Kira came in and hugged Mai. "Gabrial told me what happened."
She hugged her back.
"Gomen. I didn't mean to just run out like that."
"Its alright. I understand. I figured you'd rather see me than him right now, though."
"I don't know." Mei sat down on her couch, tucking her legs under her. "I love him so much...but if I'm around him...all everyone ever says is that I'm going to die."
"Thats because they're all used to worst case senarios. But I think Lucifer might be right... The council is rediculous with their idea of a perfect match."
"I think...I think I should just stay away from him."
"I'm scared though. He'll put all his efforts into protecting me...and he won't protect himself. What if...what if HE gets hurt?"
"Thats why there's family. We'll protect you AND him."
Mei was quiet for a moment.
"Is he...is he mad at me? For running away?"
"No, he's just worried about you."
"Tell him...that's it's okay for him to come see me now."
Kira smiled. "I will. Excuse me?" She got up and went to the door. "You can come in now."
Mei gasped and lept up.
"He was there the whole time?!"
Kira grinned as Gabrial came in. "Yes...I was..."
She blinked and looked down, twisting her hands together.
"I...Gabrial..."
He pulled her into his arms. "You don't have to apologize, dear."
She hugged him tight, burying her face into his chest.
He kissed the top of her head.
"I love you..." she whispered softly. "I love you so much, Gabrial."
"I love you too, baby..."
She looked up at him.
"Don't...don't ever leave me alone. Please? I don't want to be alone." She wrapped her arms around his waist.
He held her tighter. "I'll never leave you, Mai..."
She smiled against his chest.
"That's all I needed to hear."

Before anyone knew it, it was the day before the wedding. Gabrial hadn't been able to see Mei for a few days as she was working, but it was getting close to the rehersal dinner so he decided to go pick her up instead of waiting for her at the resturant.
He'd borrowed Kira's car, guessing that Mai was dressed very nicely, and the fact that he was dressed in a suit. He knocked on her door.
There was a very long pause and then the door slowly opened.
Mei was standing there dressed in a simple black dress, one Kira had helped her pick out.
But...there was mascarra smeared down her cheeks and her hair was rumpled.
She'd been crying.
"Sweetie...What's the matter?" He pulled her into his arms.
She shoved him away, more violently than she had the last time.
"I won't marry you," she whispered. She pulled off the ring he had given her, dropping it at his feet.
"Mai? What the hell is going on?"
She fisted her hands in her skirt.
"You aren't my soul-mate, Gabrial!"
He stared at her. "What?"
She turned her face away.
"I looked...I shouldn't have...but I couldn't help it. I'm not your soul-mate and you aren't mine. We can't get married."
"Leave." She started to shut the door in his face.
He blocked it with his body. "I'm not leaving, Mai. We're getting married tomorrow, what the hell is going on?"
"We can't be together! Your soul is joined with another's! So just leave me alone!"
"Who else could I possibly be with, Mai? I love you..."
"I hate you."
"YOU AREN'T MY SOUL-MATE!" she screamed, shoving him back. While he was startled, she pushed him again and managed to slam the door shut. "I won't marry you!" She locked the door so he couldn't get back in.
"God damnit, Mai... Why are you doing this?"
She squeezed her eyes shut, crying.
"The bowl never lies to me...it didn't show my face...when I asked about your soul-mate. We can't be together. Please...please go away..."
"Who's face did it show?"
"Someone else's. Please...please go away, Gabrial...please..."
"Mai...I don't care if you're my soul mate or not...I love you."
"It matters...you think it doesn't...it does. Soul mates are made only for each other. We'd be happy for a while...but your soul would pull you away. It's better...it's better to do this now. Please...I beg you. If you love me...you'll leave."
"If you love me, you wouldn't make me leave..."
She was quiet.
"I don't love you," she whispered through the door. "So leave now."
"Mai..." He closed his eyes. "Please...I love you..."
"I love someone else. So go away."
"Mai..." A tear slipped down his cheek. "I guess I'll go be the bearer of bad news then..."
"Fine." He heard the chain rattle into place and the sound of her walking away from the door.
He didn't see how much pain she was in from saying those words.
He dashed his tears away and drove to the restaurant to tell everyone.
He saw the large group from the front door; everyone was talking and laughing, waiting for the guests of honor.
He bowed his head and started forward. He just wished he knew why she was doing this.
Eiro looked up and his smile faded. He quickly excused himself and ran to his son.
"Gabrial? What's wrong? Where's Mei?"
He shook his head. "The wedding's off..."
Eiro blinked.
"What do you mean the wedding is off?"
"I went to pick up Mei and she threw me out...she said she didn't want to marry me because she'd looked in her bowl and seen my face with someone else..." He looked down. "I can't imagine being with out her..."
"What?!" Eiro grabbed Gabrial's shoulders, forcing him to look up. "You left her?!"
Gabrial blinked at his father. "What the hell was I supposed to do? Break down the door?"
"YES!" He whirled. "Raphael! Kira! Come with me! Now!" He grabbed his son's hand. "You too. Baka. Didn't I tell you they'd get to her if you left her alone!"
"She's been alone before now! And besides, she didn't want me there!"
"It was a trick, Gabrial! They were driving you away so they could get her!"
Gabrial growled. "We'll have this argument later." He turned and stalked to his mother's car, Eiro, Kira and Raphael following.
Eiro climbed in the driver's seat, speeding to Mei's apartment. They got there only to found the door broken open, the furniture smashed.
Eiro climbed in the driver's seat, speeding to Mei's apartment. They got there only to found the door broken open, the furniture smashed.
"GOD DAMNIT!" Gabrial punched the wall, hard enough to leave a hole.
Gabrial turned to his father. "Where will they have taken her?"
"Probably to their headquarters."
He turned to Raphael. "I'm assuming you know where that is?"
Raphael nodded.
"Yes. I'll take us there." He arched his back and his wings burst from his shoulderblades. He closed his eyes, whispering. A wind rose around them and, suddenly, they were standing in front of a set of double doors.
Gabrial squared his shoulders and shook out his brilliant gold wings. "They better be ready for me."
"If not...too bad." Eiro's black wings appeared and he drew back his foot, kicking the doors open. Four angels leapt to their feet.
"Where is she?" Gabrial's voice was deeper than before, it had a ring of authority to it.
A male stepped forward.
"You have to understand, Gabrial. You can't be with her."
His brilliant blue eyes narrowed. "You don't understand. The council has no right to order my life." Kira stepped up behind her son, her white wings slightly flared.
"I believe you gentlemen had better take us to Mei. Or I and my son shall both be less than forgiving."
"Gabrial-san." The man turned his head to see a small child standing there. She had soft white wings and she wore a sad expression. "She's here. Come." She beckoned him through another set of doors.
Mei was lying on a bed in the small room under a thick blanket. Her face was deathly pale, her lips tinged with blue.
Gabrial knelt next to her. "Oh, gods...What did they do to her?"
"They killed it," the little angel said.
"It?"
"The child she was carrying."
Gabrial stared at the little girl. "She-she was pregnant...?" Tears welled in his eyes.
She nodded.
"Yes."
"Gabrial." The male angel appeared. "You must understand. Those children cannot be brought into this world. If you wish...you can still have Mei. But she will have to be sterilized so she will not bear your children. Your mate has been chosen." A beautiful woman appeared, a cold smile on her face. "Yofiel will bear your children."
Gabrial slowly stood. Fire burned in his eyes. "You can all go to hell." He slugged the male angel hard.
He fell back with a grunt then staggered up slowly. The little girl laid a hand on Gabrial's thigh.
"Don't. Don't dirty your hands. Invite him."
Gabrial nodded. "LUCIFER! Get your lily-white ass up here!"
"Aww, you didn't say it nice!" The male angel gasped as Lucifer appeared in front of him. "But...that's okay." He smiled slowly, his eyes swirling black.
"Y-you! You can't be here!"
"You heard the archangel. I was invited. But...I'll leave soon enough...with your souls..."
"We have to go." Eiro appeared at Gabrial's side. "Grab her and get away. Now."
Gabrial nodded and gathered Mei into his arms. "Raphael?"
The angel nodded and unfurled his wings again. The wind kicked up, blinding them, but before they faded away, Gabrial saw Lucifer ripping the male angel's soul from his body.
*********
"She'll be okay," Raphael said, sitting back. They were back in Mei's apartment and the girl was still passed out in her bed. "She's weak and she'll need to be in bed for at least a few days."
Gabrial sat and took her hand lightly. "What about...?"
The man sighed.
"The child she carried is gone. There's no way to reverse that. But she should be able to have more."
"I know there's no way to reverse that...I just wanted to make sure that we could have more...If she wanted to..." He closed his eyes against his tears.
Eiro touched his son's shoulder.
"You have her back, Gabrial...that's what matters the most," he said softly. He looked up at Kira and Raphael, nodding towards the door. They eached hugged Gabrial before drifting out the door to leave the two alone.
"God, Mei...I'm an idiot...I'm so sorry..." He kissed her hand softly.
"Gabrial..." He looked up quickly. Mei's eyes were open and she was staring at him. "Gabrial..."
"Hi." He smiled at her, tears still in his eyes. "How are you feeling?"
Tears suddenly appeared in her eyes and she sat up, throwing herself in his arms, burying her face in his chest.
"I don't care! I don't care if you aren't my soulmate! I want you!"
He laughed and half choked on his tears. "You are my soulmate, I don't care what your bowl says. I love you and I'm never letting you go."
"I'm sorry...I'm sory I said all those horrible things."
"Shhh...I know baby...Its okay..." He held her tightly. "Its okay."
"Gabrial-san." He looked up to see the child angel standing there.
In her arms, she was holding a small bundle.
Gabrial's jaw dropped. "Is that...?"
She smiled a little.
"The baby died before it had a body...but I saved the soul. Lucifer gave me the body to house it. It's the only thing he can really give." She walked forward, holding out the bundle.
Inside, was a beautiful baby boy.
"Oh, my god..."
Mei's hand flew to her mouth, her eyes very wide as tears slipped down her cheeks.
The angel smiled a little.
"It's okay. He won't bite. He's a little angel boy--a full-blooded angel." She looked at Mei. "This is what you wanted, right? You wanted three things...for Gabrial to love you, to be his bride...and to bear his babies. They tried to stop you from having him...but his soul wanted to be with you."
Gabrial slowly let go of Mei and took the little boy. "Oh...he's so perfect..." He held the baby so Mei could see him better.
She reached out with trembling fingers, touching the babe's cheek.
"Oh...oh, he IS real...w-we...we have...a son..."
"A beautiful son." He turned to the angel. "Thank you, so much...And tell Lucifer thank you too." He kissed Mei softly. "Still want to marry me?"
She looked up at him then layed her forehead on his shoulder.
"Yes," she whispered. "More than anything." She reached out, taking their son from him, craddling him to her body.
He kissed her gently. "I don't think I can be any happier than I am right now...What should we name him?"
"Sammael," she whispered. The little angel nodded.
"Yes, Mei. That is his name. He is the angel of souls."
"Welcome home, Sammael."
The baby made a soft noise of protest and started to cry. Without really knowing what she was doing, Mei pulled off the top of her dress, holding him to her breast. A look of sweet surprise flitted over her face.
"T-there's milk. I can really feed him..."
Gabrial smiled and kissed her softly.
Mei squeezed her eyes shut, tears running down her cheeks once more.
Gabrial hugged her tightly. "I love you, so much..."
"I love you too," she wispered back, leaning against him. Their son finished feeding and Mei laid down, laying him beside her.
Gabrial traced his finger over his son's cheek. "He's so beautiful."
"Lucifer even found a body that looked like us," she said, stroking the babe's down-like hair. "He has the same color eyes as you."
Gabrial smiled. "I know...I'm just so happy right now."
Mei made a soft noise and he saw that she had already fallen asleep, a hand laid protectively on Sammael's stomach.
Gabrial smiled and was about to fall asleep himself when he heard a noise coming from the other side of the screen.
He slowly got up. "Hello?"
He looked around the screen and sighed in relief.
Lucifer was sitting on one of the few undestroyed chairs, legs crossed, smoking a cigarette. The smoke curled slowly in the air, disappearing intp nothingness so as not to let it fill the apartment.
"Hey. Thank you..."
"You're welcome. I just hope you appreciate the fact that I nearly had my face clawed off by a succubus to get that body," he said, flicking his ash away.
He laughed. "I appreciate that fact and Mei does too."
He looked up and smiled.
"If you apprciate the fact, then you'd better take damn good care of that baby. And of Mei. Archangel or not, I'll drag your ass to hell if anything happens to either of them, deal?"
Gabrial smiled and nodded. "Deal."
"Good." Lucifer uncrossed his legs and stood. "And, you'll be happy to know that the council is no longer. Mei is safe."
Gabrial clapped Lucifer's shoulder. "And believe me, I thank you from the bottom of my heart."
"Thanking Satan. That's a new one. All the demons will be talking." Lucifer snubbed the cigarette out on his hand. "Speaking of which, I'll send you some imps. They'll clean this place up in no time. I'll send Bee in to keep an eye on them too; imps get rowdy if you don't watch them."
"Bee?"
The fallen angel blinked then laughed.
"Oh, he'd KILL me if he knew I'd called him that in front of someone else. I mean Beelzebub. My general. I call him Bee to annoy him."
Gabrial laughed. "I should have guessed."
"Just don't tell him you know his nick-name. He might try to overthrow ME. But I'll wait to send the imps until Mei is awake and out of the apartment. Imps like pretty girls."
Gabrial nodded. "Thanks. They're kind of like you, huh?"
"Ah, guilty as charged. But you can't really blame me. Hell's a little strapped for beautiful women. Succubi are good in a pinch but...well, those claws and teeth are a put-off." He smiled slightly. "Which reminds me...your little sister Cam is kind of cute."
Gabrial narrowed his eyes. "Stay away from my sister."
"Now you're cold." Black light flashed around Lucifer and he became Lucy. "I just want to be her friend, Gabrial-san. You don't have to be mean." She pouted.
"If it was just Lucy talking about it, I'd have no problem. But if you try to pressure her, Lucifer, I'll have your wings and your head."
Lucy smiled and sat back down, kicking her feet.
"I'm evil...but I'm not sick. I don't force anyone to do anything. I'm not trying to steal her away or trying to sleep with her. I just...want a friend."
"So long as thats how it stays, I don't care. Just remember I'm not the only one who will hurt you."
"Oh, trust me. I wouldn't DARE cross your father. I made that mistake once." She pulled up her sleeve, showing him a long scar in his arm that went from his upper arm to his wrist. "I'm not going to try it again."
"How'd you get that?"
"A...souviner from your father's flaming sword. I made the mistake of saying something unflattering about your mother. He...didn't take it well."
"If I may ask what you said? I'm curious."
"Hmm...what did I say? I can't even remember anymore. Your father probably does. He still holds it over my head." She pushed her sleeve back down.
Gabrial smiled. "Well, you just be careful then."
"I will, don't worry. I just...ask that you DON'T mention me being a friend to your sister to your dad. He'll wring my neck."
"If that is your wish."
"It is." She stood. "I have to go. Souls to damn, and all. Good luck." Lucy smiled and was gone.
Gabrial went back into the other room to lay down next to Mei.
She stirred and snuggled back against him, still sound asleep. Sammael had fallen asleep as well.
He smiled and kissed her softly, snuggling next to her.
